Star Wars Jedi Survivor Spawn of Oggdo Guide

Star wars Jedi Survivor Spawn of Oggdo Guide – In this Jedi Survivor Spawn of Oggdo Guide, I’ll show you how to defeat the Spawn of Oggdo Boss located on Koboh, which will likely be the second Legendary Boss you’ll face in the game, and is much harder than the Rancor Boss.

Star Wars Jedi Survivor Spawn of Oggdo Guide

The Spawn of Oggdo hits extremely hard, but what makes it even more challenging is that it can be extremely difficult to read, and there are few openings to get in damage. Being overly aggressive in this fight can get you killed very quickly, so you have to be patient with your attacks and anticipate counter attacks, which is what we’ll focus on in this Jedi Survivor Spawn of Oggdo Guide.

Jedi Survivor Spawn of Oggdo Guide - Parrying is very effective in this fight.

However, unlike the Rancor Boss fight, Blocking and Parrying work exceptionally well here, and allow you good positioning where you can attack easily. By Parrying his “Snap” attacks, you can easily counter attack afterwards if you see an opening. Just don’t attack more than once or twice, as he has a tendency to attack again rather rapidly, particularly when his health gets lower.

How to Deal with Spawn of Oggdo Unblockable Attacks

Spawn of Oggdo has many different Unblockable attacks, which is again one of the reasons this fight is so challenging. The first one you need to learn to read is exceptionally difficult to deal with, and that’s his charge attack. He can do this attack at any time, even when right next to you, so it’s imperative you always look out for it and learn to recognize it immediately. When you do, you what to Jump and flip into this attack, so that he charges past below you. Hang in the air with our flip to make sure you avoid it completely.

Jedi Survivor Spawn of Oggdo Guide - Flipping over this attack is imperative!

The next Unblockable attack is a Jump/Slam attack where he hops straight up into the air and lands down creating an AoE tremor below him that radiates outward. This Unblockable attack is one of the best opportunities you have to deal damage to Spawn of Oggdo, so make sure you Jump over it and into Oggdo, so that you can attack in the air and after you land as well.

Jedi Survivor Spawn of Oggdo Guide - Jump over and toward him for this attack

The next Unblockable attack we’ll focus on in this Jedi Survivor Spawn of Oggdo Guide, is when he rears up very quickly and then tries to bite you. This can be very hard to read quickly enough to Dodge, but that is the best strategy. Just side step this if you can and then get in some damage with attacks. It’s another good opportunity to hit Spawn of Oggdo, so don’t waste it!

Dodge this attack and punish him for it.

At some point into the fight he will also try to grab you with his tongue, which is an instant kill if it hits you, so be sure to avoid it. The best ways to do so are by Jumping and flipping at the last second or by getting far enough away out of reach. Learn to read this quickly or die horribly, that’s really the best tip for this Jedi Survivor Spawn of Oggdo Guide.

Spawn of Oggdo Guide - Jump over or get out of range of this attack

And the last Unblockable attack we’ll showcase in this Jedi Survivor Spawn of Oggdo Guide only occurs when he’s at low health and this is another Jump/Slam attack, but this time he Jumps at you and the ground tremor produced is much larger and deadlier. The best thing you can do here is Jump towards him when this happens and then land inside that tremor and attack him, now unlick the other Jump/Slam attack he does. Make sure to flip and hang in the air so you don’t land too early!

What Stance and Perks to Use against Spawn of Oggdo

Because Spawn of Oggdo is so aggressive I like to use the Single Saber stance or Crossguard, which has excellent defense, though you won’t likely have it the first time you encounter Spawn of Oggdo. Why the Single Saber stance is so good is that it attacks a bit more slowly than Dual Blades, not locking you into animations that you can’t get out of before Spawn of Oggdo attacks again. Additionally, it has some nice air attacks that are useful because you Jump and attack quite often in this fight.

You likely wont have any useful Perks when first facing Spawn of Oggdo, so there are none really needed for this fight. However, You likely wont have any Perks when first facing Rancor, so there are none really needed for this fight. However, Steadfast and Elixir are both good for this fight, and you can buy both from Zee if you have enough Data Discs.

  1. The easiest way to do this fight is with the blaster stance.

The charged shot will stagger him and interrupt any of his attacks (red or normal). So just charge the shot, wait for the attack animation to start, fire and get in one or two hits. Best to be somewhat close when you use the charged shot so you aren’t having to cover a lot of ground to get in your hits and you’re perfectly safe as long as you have blaster charge left. Just keep going like this through the whole fight. If you have died already, the death pickup will recharge your blaster ammo which should give you enough shots to get through the fight if you pick it up once you run out of ammo. The “Improved Clip” and “Blaster Cooldown” skills also help with having enough shots to avoid actually having to fight him normally.

It’s a bit unfortunate as this feels like cheesing the boss but it really feels like it’s the intended approach from the devs. On grandmaster, ended up winning on my second try this way after countless attempts trying to use other stances. Hope this helps someone who just wants to get past this without lowering the difficulty.
